INSIDE SALES ASSOCIATE AT ROCKPILE VINEYARDS

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Inside Sales Associate is responsible for meeting or exceeding the yearly, quarterly and monthly sales goals as set by the DTC Sales Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Inside Sales Associate will work independently to plan and execute their sales strategy in order to meet or exceed all sales goals. He or she will identify sales opportunities from historical customer sales data, as well as generate new leads and build strong customer relationships. Will perform other duties as assigned.Direct Phone Sales (85%)
    • Call customers from winery databases and lists provided by the DTC Sales Manager.
    • Answer incoming calls to the tasting room.
    • Sell additional product by recognizing opportunities to up-sell accounts.
    • Maintain the accuracy of the winery’s customer database by continuously entering information as indicated.
    • Creates strategic plans to maximize sales opportunities.

    Direct Email Sales (5%)

    • Mine customer data to identify specific opportunities for selling wine.
    • Develop group sales emails promoting specific wines.

    Tasting Room Sales (5%)

    • Ensures that all guests are greeted immediately upon entry to the tasting room and provided with experiences that will build brand loyalty.
    • Communicates in a knowledgeable, professional and gracious manner.
    • Maintains winery physical setting to reinforce standards of the brand by ensuring that displays of wine products are attractive and well-maintained.
    • ID’s guests to ensure each is of legal age to consume alcohol.
    • Serves samples of wine for guests in both individual and group settings.
    • Shares appropriate information and educates guests about the wines, brand history, sister wineries and lodging properties.
    • Promotes the sale of wine products in the tasting room, pursues sales opportunities and encourages customers to buy wines and join the wine club.
    • Accurately uses POS registers and other winery systems to transact sales and maintain tasting room inventory.
    • Accurately completes end of day reports, reconciles daily sales and posts transactions.
    • Demonstrates personal accountability by following all company policies and procedures.
    • Performs opening and closing procedures, which includes but is not limited to: setup and breakdown of tables, chairs and all items related to the tasting room function.
    • Maintains physical inventory of merchandise items and restocks wine in the tasting room as needed.
    • Work winery events as needed.

    Data Analysis (5%)

    • Work with DTC Sales Manager to identify customers for specific wines from existing winery database and product lists.
    • Accurately track and report to DTC Sales Manager regarding sales conversion rates and inventory depletions.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must possess a minimum of one year of a proven, successful track record of telephone and email sales results.
  • Able to set and achieve goals.
  • Self-directed-able to work independently as well as part of a cohesive and driven team.
  • Able to meet or exceed monthly sales goals.
  • Able to create and execute sales campaigns.
  • Exceptional communication skills; both verbal and written.
  • Able to provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Able to positively represent Wilson Artisan Wineries at off-site events as directed.
  • Able to work occasional weekends and events as needed.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to proactively ask for and close the sale.
  • Able to travel locally to other Wilson Artisan Wineries and off-site events as needed.
  • Must possess a current Responsible Beverage Server certificate

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience generating successful sales numbers via telephone and email.
  • Wine industry experience and wine knowledge preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Fluent in English in both oral and written formats. Bi-lingual preferred.
  • Able to communicate in a professional and effective manner at all times.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Able to understand and follow instructions. Able to effectively problem solve and ask questions when clarification is needed.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Social media, database manipulation and CRM software proficiency preferred.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, grab, climb stairs, speak, hear, listen, taste and smell. Must possess vision, hearing and sufficient digital manipulation skills to utilize standard office and tasting room equipment. The employee is occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must be able to frequently lift, move and carry up to 45 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Most duties will be performed indoors in an office and tasting room setting. Work will also be performed outdoors when serving guests.
