FRONT OF HOUSE LEAD – COYOTE SONOMA

Coyote Sonoma is a growing wine bar, taproom, and event venue located in the Mill District in Healdsburg.

We are looking for a dedicated Front of the House Lead to help oversee the daily operations of the bar, dining room, patio, and event space!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Proven, successful track record of bar, restaurant, and event operations.
  • Able to effectively manage and motivate teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate or advanced skills in Microsoft Office, POS systems and social media.
  • Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources.
  • Must have an excellent eye for detail, the ability to consistently meet deadlines, and follow all instructions in an accurate and thorough manner.
  • Must hold a valid Food Handlers Permit and Responsible Alcoholic Beverage Service Certification.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment with live music and comedy shows.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures that all staff members receive ongoing education and training regarding wine, wine sales, and club recruitment.
  • Coordinates with Marketing Department for social media and community outreach.
  • Coordinates with Director of Marketing for ordering supplies, performing inventory, opening, closing, scheduling, serving guests, cleaning, and cashiering.
  • Ensures that all staff members are properly trained in safe work practices and facilitates training and development of staff.
  • Demonstrates a professional, guest-focused demeanor at all times.
  • Plans and executes special events, i.e., live music, Karaoke and tap take-overs.
  • Coordinates with Director of Marketing regarding all events and banquets with food service needs.
  • Operates the bar and dining areas in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensures that all cash drawers are properly balanced at the end of each shift and any discrepancies are documented.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be fluent in the English language in both oral and written formats. Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Able to prepare, monitor and adhere to budgets.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is located in an event, taproom, tasting bar, restaurant, and patio environment. The noise level is usually moderate and will rise during special events, especially during live music concerts.

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a non-exempt position. The pay range is $30 to $30 an hour. Actual placement within the range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
